This policy explains what information BBS Club collects, how we use it, and what rights you have over it. We've tried to write this in plain language rather than legal boilerplate.
What we collect
When you register:
- Your username
- Your email address
- Your password (stored as an encrypted hash — we cannot read it)
- The date and time of registration
- Your IP address at the time of registration
When you use the forum:
- Your posts, replies, and any content you submit
- Your IP address when you post
- Browser and device information (user agent string)
- Pages you visit and actions you take on the site
Automatically:
- Cookies required for your session and login state
- Cookies used for forum preferences and settings
What we don't collect
- We do not sell your data to third parties
- We do not build advertising profiles
- We do not collect payment information (we have no paid features that require it)
- We do not use tracking pixels or cross-site tracking tools
How we use your information
- To operate the forum and provide you with access to it
- To send you email notifications you have subscribed to (new replies, mentions, etc.)
- To send transactional emails such as account confirmation and password reset
- To enforce our community guidelines and prevent abuse
- To understand how the forum is being used so we can improve it
Email
We will send you emails in the following circumstances:
- To confirm your account when you register
- To help you reset your password if requested
- To notify you of replies and mentions, if you have enabled these notifications
- Occasionally, to inform you of significant changes to the forum or these policies
You can manage your email notification preferences from your account settings at any time. You can also unsubscribe from non-essential emails using the link in any email we send.
Cookies
BBS Club uses cookies to keep you logged in and to remember your forum preferences. These are functional cookies — the forum does not work properly without them. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies.
Data retention
Your account data is retained for as long as your account exists. If you delete your account, your personal information will be removed from our systems within 30 days. Your posts may remain on the forum in anonymised form.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your account and associated data
- Export your data in a portable format
- Withdraw consent for processing where consent is the legal basis

If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Third-party services
BBS Club uses the following third-party services to operate:
Hosting provider — Hostinger, which provides our server
infrastructure. Data is processed on servers located in the
United States.
Email delivery service — Resend, which we use to send
transactional and notification emails to registered users.
CDN and DNS — Cloudflare, which handles our domain DNS
and provides DDoS protection. Traffic to BBS Club passes
through Cloudflare's network.
We do not share your personal data with any third party beyond what is necessary to operate the service.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify registered users by email and post a notice on the forum. Continued use of BBS Club after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
